Party leader urges Pacifico Energy to expand investment in Vietnam

-The US is one of Vietnam’s most important economic partners, and the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries is creating new opportunities for US businesses to invest and operate in Vietnam, Party General Secretary To Lam said during a reception for Nate Franklin, President and CEO of Pacifico Energy , in Hanoi on Friday.

The Party leader emphasized that Vietnam will continue implementing institutional reforms to facilitate domestic and foreign businesses. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, underscoring the need for a stable energy supply—particularly clean energy—to support the country’s development goals.

Party leader Lam urged PE to expand its cooperation and investment in Vietnam, especially in energy transition projects and the acceleration of ongoing initiatives. He also encouraged PE to strengthen partnerships with Vietnamese enterprises, transfer technology, and share expertise to support the country’s wind and renewable energy development.

Franklin acknowledged Vietnam’s significant offshore wind energy potential and noted that Pacifico Energy is conducting surveys and developing offshore wind power projects in the country. He expressed hope that PE’s success in Vietnam would serve as a foundation to attract more US investors to the market.
